Our Story

Rooted in Community, Growing with Purpose

Hawaiʻi remains heavily dependent on imported food — approximately 85–90% of what we eat arrives from outside the state. Kahuaola Farms was founded to change that. Located on Hawaiian Homestead lands in Puʻukapu, Waimea, we are committed to strengthening local food security and preserving the agricultural traditions of our ancestors.

Vision

To become a leading producer of fresh, locally grown food while helping Hawaiʻi move toward greater agricultural self-sufficiency.

Mission

To cultivate a sustainable homestead that honors the practices of our ancestors and ensures these traditions are carried forward.

Sustainable Practices

  • Year-round greenhouse production for consistent harvests
  • Free-range pig husbandry with ethical animal care
  • Direct farm-to-consumer sales reducing food miles
  • Expanding bee pollination and fruit tree diversity
